A 91 x 122cm mixed media painting created on canvas using acrylic paint, graphite, ink and water-soluble crayon, Let’s Stay Here Forever expresses a visual language centered around colour, texture, and energy. The process was intuitive, starting with a limited colour palette and then adding and removing colours as the painting unfolded.

When I paint, I feel energised and always aim to feed this energy back into the canvas by using bold, saturated colours, dynamic brush strokes and spontaneous mark making. Depth is achieved through multiple layers, using a variety of tools and impasto technique. There was a feeling of push and pull while creating this painting, a back and forth of layers and marks, covering and uncovering to achieve colour harmony and contrast and express what I was feeling.
